Damn You! & Gringo Records presents a monster triple bill:

2018 is shaping up to a busy time for Nottingham’s Grey Hairs. A rapid-fire trip to Europe with Hey Colossus in March, plans for a 3rd LP being hatched and looking very tiny in some enormo-sheds with Sleaford Mods in September are all in the diary. Right bang in the middle of all this is this UK tour with their brothers from Brooklyn SAVAK.

Recently Hairs have matched their love of volume to a new-found directness and power. Every song is like a miniature world in itself, taking unexpected twists and turns that mean just when you think you’ve got them pinned they wriggle free.

Their raucous energy and quarrelling male/female vocals recall everything from the Stooges to Status Quo, from The Birthday Party to Black Sabbath but it never feels like a re-tread. Live, these songs take on a life of their own. The band might only just about stay in the saddle but it’s always a thrilling ride.

Joining Grey Hairs on this co-headlining jaunt up and down the major roads of the UK are SAVAK who hail from a place called America.

SAVAK operate as a loose collective of players focused around the core duo of Michael Jaworski (The Cops, Virgin Islands) and Sohrab Habibion (Obits, Edsel) joined by members of killer bands such as Girls Against Boys, Bellini, Holy Fuck, The Make Up, Nation Of Ulysses and several million more.

SAVAK takes the edge and clang of Habibion’s former band Obits and adds some light and shade, recalling everything from the DC punk rock it’s members grew up with to Stiff Records new wave and danceable Nuggets garage rock. We’re stoked to bring them over to the UK for these handful of dates.

Raucous post punk from Nottingham born out of the ashes of White Finger and Punish The Atom and seeingly put together out of a list of all those people you like hanging out with at gigs.

There’s something of the Dexys about their sax-led stomp but we reckon you’d need to add in the Minutemen, Mars and The Pop Group to that and even then it doesn’t really prepare you for how much FUN these dicks are live.

Doors at 8pm. First band shortly after. Hairs and SAVAK are working out who plays last each night.
