MINDFEST – Raising fund for mental health charity Mind. Feat: Marty + Weekend Recovery + First Wave + more!
Sunday 04 November 2018RSVP
Marty is an all female band based in Nottingham, dedicated to experimenting with new sound and styles. Our goal is to bring girl power back into music.
Weekend Recovery – Weekend Recovery are a 4-piece garage punk band, formed just over a year ago, Weekend Recovery go from strength to strength recently teaming up with Headcheck Records and Super Scurry Music. They’ve already gained the support of BBC introducing, Radio X and NME Presents and have headlined sets at London’s famous Ally Cat Bar on Denmark Street and the Islington O2 academy under their belts
First Wave – First Wave are an East Midlands based three piece playing fast, hard but melodic Punk Rock. Their combination of old skool late seventies punk values combined with a modern social conscience has led to them being compared to the classic Punk bands such as The Clash, The Ramones and The Damned.
However do not be deceived , they are far from dated, despite taking influence from the classic 77 bands they drag punk into the 21st century, lyrically lambasting everything from reality t.v to American gun crime and corrupt corporations whilst raising a battle-cry for everyone who feels margainalized, dispossessed and alienated from today’s crazy society.
With four albums under their belt and their last release ‘TOXIC ROCK AND ROLL’ receiving belting reviews from Viva la Rock, Uberrock, The Punkmonger and The Punksite amongst others, First Wave are building a solid reputation not only the UK but also continental Europe and Ireland.
On the live stage First wave are pure energy, firing one song straight into the next, they play hard and fast and like to leave the crowds heads filled with memorable choruses and (hopefully) ringing ears.
First Wave are committed to supporting charitable causes and are looking forward to playing this show at the Maze on 4th November 2018 in support of the mental health charity MIND.

In the words of one of their huge non hits “ We’re Crap and we know we are !! “
The Muffin Heads – The Muffin Heads are a 3 piece punk / grunge / rock sandwich conceived in Essex. Having had multiple radio plays on BBC6 Music, The Muffin Heads title track of their EP ‘Don’t Give The People What They Want’ was described by Steve Lamacq as ‘2 minutes of anti-establishment punk’.
The live shows are well honed and the band have recently smashed their way though Camden Rocks Festival and a sub-headline slot at Bish Bash.
‘If Hades had a house band it would be us.’
A rock duo formed in London 2015 consisting of singer andguitarist Alex Munteanu and drummer Scott Collier after meeting at an audition for a separate band in Camden. After the two bonded, realising their musical styles fitted perfectly together LEONTAS was born in Camden’s Creation Studios.
Now their goal is to sound louder, more aggressive and express their social and personal beliefs through their lyrics.
The idea is to have Scott on drums and vocals and Alex on the other hand doing vocals and playing the guitar, where he combines 3 amps to achieve his huge monster of a sound.
In December 2016 they released their debut EP “With Love” which set their foot on the scene and only hinted of what is to come. Their comeback was in 2017 when they released their double single Stand Out, recorded live it captures the band’s dynamic andenergetic vibe from their live performances and further solidified their unique signature sound.
Currently the band is working on and recording new material to be released in mid 2018. With plenty of shows and festivals lined up and new material coming out, expect to hear a lot more from the Lion duo.
