Yes last night saw our first every quiz night and what a good laugh it was! Highlights included people screaming into a Dbz meter to see who was loudest…and our own bar member Dylan won! Whilst we also had a brilliant improv version of the New Zealand ‘Haka’ dance! Other questions included guessing what rude word contestants on Countdown came up with after being told the letters and drawing the Mona Lisa as best you could!
All in all it was a good fun night and a great way to celebrate 35 years of Castle Rock beer/pubs! So I am sure we will be doing it again in the near future!

Nottingham’s Ministry of Goth have chosen our cities best underground venue to host their new club & live band night BATRONIC!
NMOG continues to bring you a diverse array of events promoting the ‘umbrella’ of goth and alternative music in the East Midlands. BATRONIC is a new clubnight, designed to merge the best of the traditional guitar-based goth music with the electronic ebm/synth/electro subgenres.

Unusual name, unusual beer! The “Waggle Dance” is the movement a bee performs to alert the hive to a source of nectar. Wells Waggle Dance Beer is a beautifully balanced, sneakily seductive, golden coloured beer.
Pale ale, Crystal malts, British Fuggle and Golding hops, together with Fair Trade South American honey, combine perfectly to create this delicious golden beer with a superb honey aroma.
We are of course a Castle Rock pub so we also stock a range of ales from their wonderful brewery – including the ever popular Harvest Pale, Screech Owl, Preservation and more.
For those of you who prefer your spirits, we have an extensive range of both top-shelf and standard whiskeys, vodkas, rums and the like, including all the old favourites and some more interesting brands.
